Hannah - Growing up with a brother with autism helped e discover my love for children with special needs and made me realize how important it is for a child with special needs to be understood and excepted by the community.

Kristeen - Hi i'm Kristeen and i am 18 years old. Orignially when i applied at Companion Connection i had my heart set on being an elementary school teacher. I knew this job was all about children with special needs and was eager to join the team. Although i still have my thoughts about being a teacher, working through this company has made me realize how special these kids really are and i can definently see myself working with them for the many years to come (possibly even as an occupational therapist (; ) I am rewarded each and everyday i work with the children at Companion Connection whether it is a new skill they have mastered on the gym floor or a certain concept they now understand in the tutoring program we assigned. Knowing what i am achieving through this company in helping the children with tasks they will use for the rest of their life makes this experience even more special. Assisting the children as they work and function in the community while allowing citizens to have the chance to interact with such amazing individuals is something i enjoy the most at Companion Connection.
Mary - I was a level 10 gymnast and that's how I met Cynthia. I had always loved working with special needs kids and to see someone doing it in a gymnastics setting is what made me realize I could have the best of both worlds. I have just started school again in hopes of becoming an occupational therapist.
Ryan - My name is Ryan Stevenson. I live in Newbury Park, California. I am currently attending school at Cal Sate University Channel Islands. I love to surf and skate, pretty much anything on a board. I love working with kids because it puts me in a good mood and it feels as if I'm not even working.
Brittney - Having a brother with autism, which allowed me to grow up around special needs children, is what inspired me to work with them. Knowing first hand the effects a special needs child can have on a family has made me determined to help other families like mine.
